Our beginners courses are the perfect introduction to archery. Whether you’re completely new to the sport, have only tried it once or twice, or are returning after some time away, we’ll help you build a strong foundation and discover just how enjoyable archery can be.
Successful completion of an Archery GB registered beginners’ course is required before joining an Archery GB affiliated club.
We run 2-3 beginners courses through the outdoor season from April to September at Towcestrians Sports Club.
Course dates/times:
12th & 13th September 2026
Session times: Saturday 14:00 til 17:00, Sunday 14:00 til 17:30
Our courses are designed for your enjoyment, as well as teaching the important safety rules and good basic shooting technique.
The course will be run by experienced Archery GB registered coaches and often assisted by experienced archers.
All equipment is provided.
We accept juniors on to our courses from the age of 8 years. All children under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by a parents or guardian.
Cost: £80 for adults, £45 for Under 18’s.
GIFT VOUCHER: We offer beginners course gift vouchers if you’re looking to give a course place to someone as a gift.
The main topics of the course are:
-Safety
-Equipment and bow assembly
-Good basic shooting technique
-Shooting Etiquette
-The main bow disciplines
-Scoring
Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a certificate, which will allow you to join any ArcheryGB registered archery club.
PLEASE NOTE: Spaces are limited… and only those who have booked a place may take part. To successfully complete the course and receive a certificate, participants must attend every scheduled session.
