Towcester Archers help Northants win over Bedfordshire

Because the success of the recent Covid postal matches between Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire, it was decided that this remote format would continue for this indoor season. This allows all archers within the county to submit scores, include 17 Towcester Archers members.

From the long list of Northants archers, Dylan Warwick finished 1st overall in the Junior Gents Compound division. Elaine Watkins was 4th in the Ladies Compound. Isobelle Cave was 3rd in the Junior Ladies Recurve U16. Rebecca Stevens was 8th in the Ladies Recurve. In the Gents Recurve, Dean Edwards was 1st overall, Charlie Alvarez finished 5th, Darren Stevens was 14th and Luke Warwick 16th.

The full results can be found on the NCAS Website here.

Banbury Cross Archers v Towcester Archers Inter-Club Tournament

On Sunday 20th February, we had our very first inter-club shoot with Banbury Cross Archers at their indoor venue of Warriner School in Bloxham.

There was enough space for 18 members to take part from each club, and we managed to take a full quota. For several of our members this was their first competition outside of the club, and for the more experienced archers, the first indoor competition for a long time.

Some great scores were achieved including some personal bests and club records, with several members coming away with medals.

A big thank you to everyone at Banbury Cross Archers for putting on a great shoot and making us feel so welcome.

We’re really looking forward to hosting the return leg in the summer.

Memberships & Indoor Season Update…

We’re very pleased to confirm that from Sunday 4th October, the club will commence indoor shooting at TCL (Towcester Centre for Leisure) from 2pm til 5pm in the main sports hall.

We are hopeful that a midweek session will also be available to us, which we will confirm as soon as we can.

Membership application forms are available for anyone wishing to renew or join the club from the start of October. The club now has equipment available to hire for a small weekly fee, for those who have done a beginners course but don’t yet have their own kit.

For information about memberships, including fee’s and to request a membership form, please email memberships@towcesterarchers.co.uk
